New lobster boat to England




It is not often that a boat is delivered that is mostly used for lobster fishing, and is build in Iceland.


But company Trefjar  delivered one in September a boat that went to England,

Aflafrettir  contacted the owner of the boat, Ben Woolford, and he was quite happy with the new boat.

Shipping company  Eimskip sailed with the new boat from Iceland to  England in September.


as you can see the lobster is big, much bigger

than the one caught in Iceland.  Here down below is a details about the new boat



Bátasmiðjan Trefjar in Hafnarfjörður recently delivered a new Cleopatra boat to Bridlington on the east coast of England.

The company is run by Ben Woolford, a fisherman from Bridlington who is also the captain of the boat.


The new boat has been named Dylhàris. The boat is 30 gross tons. Dylhàris is a Cleopatra 50.


The boat has two main engines of the type FPT C90 connected to ZF 286IV gears.

The boat is equipped with an 18kW power plant of the type Nanni. Most of the sailing equipment comes from Simrad and Raymarine.

The boat has Olex and MaxSEA skipper computers installed.

It is also equipped with a hydraulic stern and bow thrusters connected to the boat's autopilot.

The boat is equipped for trapping lobster and crab. It is estimated that the boat will pull 1000 traps a day.

The boat's fishing boat has an automatic sea spray system to keep lobsters alive on board. This arrangement provides much more catch value.

The boat's safety equipment is from Viking.


There is room for 20 660 liter tanks in the train. The dormitory has, sleeps five. Fully equipped cooking facilities with all appliances.


According to the company, the boat will be built from Bridlington all year round, the boat has already started fishing.
